We try to understand the society
we live in with various data.
Broad research interests,
The research topics of the faculty and graduate students in the laboratory cover a wide range of contemporary social fields, including social attitudes, social stratification, sociology of religion, sociology of the environment, urban sociology, sociology of the family, sociology of culture, sociology of education, and international comparative studies.
Various methodologies,
We use various methodologies, including quantitative analysis using representative survey data and online survey data, and qualitative analysis using interview data (with people who have some special experience) and participant observation.
And development of new methodology…
We develop new methods for social surveys as needed. We have taken advanced steps such as conducting social surveys using tablets and developing a data archive that allows for anytime, anywhere analysis of excellent social survey data.
